Megabytes per second (MBps) is a measure used to describe data transfer rates between devices. One megabyte is technically equal to 1,048,576 bytes, but in networking it refers to 1 million bytes. MBps should not be confused with the abbrevation Mbps, which refers to megabits per second.MBps may also be written as MB/s.
